ABOUT WORK & EMPLOYER-SPONSORED VISA TO AUSTRALIA?

Employer-Sponsored Visa enables Australian employers to sponsor highly skilled workers to live and work temporarily or permanently in Australia.
The purpose of the Employer sponsored visa is to address the labour shortage in Australia. In the past, nearly anybody could be sponsored for a work visa. Thus, do not get confused when you are finding different information on the net. Some information is simply not updated.
Pacific Center offers professional services to employers with all Sponsorship, Nomination, and Visa applications including regional certifying bodies to help you get the best outcome for yourself.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SKILLED VISA TO AUSTRALIA

Skilled migrants have very high participation rates in the workforce, helping to stimulate economic growth, which results in more jobs. Therefore they are very needed for the Australian economy, primarily in regional areas.

The Australian population is fast growing, and in many areas, we can see a significant shortage in the labour market. Thus many local government bodies, states or territories or even organisations can nominate occupations they are looking to fill. This way skilled migration program in Australia is highly flexible, delivering excellent results. At the same time, it can be frustrating for applicants as rules and regulations are changing nonstop.

The Australian Government significantly increased the number of skilled visas per year.  In 2023 there will be 150 000 visa spots.

The JRP is an employment-based skills assessment program. It is for international student graduates with an Australian qualification. The program gives you:

  • the opportunity to develop your skills
  • employment experience in an Australian workplace
  • a skills assessment outcome to apply to the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs) for a skilled migration visa.

A skills assessment shows if you have the skills and experience needed to work in Australia in your occupation.

The TSS program is for applicants who need a skills assessment as part of their temporary skills shortage (subclass 482) visa application to the Department of Home Affairs.

The TSS outcome shows if you have the skills and experience needed at the required level to work in Australia in your nominated occupation.

The OSAP is for applicants who need a skills assessment as part of their skilled migration visa application to the Department of Home Affairs.

The OSAP outcome shows if you have the skills and experience needed at the required level to work in Australia in your nominated occupation.

The Skills Assessment Opportunities for Migrants Pilot is for migrants living in Australia on eligible family, partner, humanitarian, or refugee visas who have never undergone a skills assessment and have skills, qualifications and/or experience in a priority occupation.

This pilot provides free, fast-tracked skills assessments to eligible migrants and successful outcomes can be used to improve employment options in your nominated occupation. This gives future employers confidence that the applicant has the skills necessary for working in an Australian workplace.

You cannot use a Skills Assessment Opportunities for Migrants skills assessment outcome for licensing or qualification-recognition purposes.

The Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) is for applicants who need a skills assessment as part of their skilled migration visa application to the Department of Home Affairs. The MSA outcome recognises if you have the skills and experience needed at the required level to work in Australia in your nominated occupation.

You can only use a successful MSA outcome for your visa application to Home Affairs for migration purposes. We do not issue anything further. You cannot use an MSA outcome for employment, licensing or qualification-recognition purposes.

The MPA program is for applicants with a successful Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) skills assessment outcome who want to apply to the Department of Home Affairs for a points-tested, independent skilled migration visa.

MPA is used to tell the Department of Home Affairs about the comparability of your qualifications and/or employment experience against Australian standards. The information on an MPA letter can assist with assessing your points-tested visa application.

We assess the standards of your qualifications and employment against:

  • AQF qualifications relevant to the occupation from an Australian industry-endorsed training package
  • Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO).

We do not provide specific information on migration or visa requirements and we do not issue points. You can ask about migration points test enquiries at the Department of Home Affairs.

Australian skills visas are based around a points testing system, and eligible people who wish to enter the country with this scheme must meet the visa subclass’s points requirements unique to their situation.

Elements that will influence the outcome of this points-based assessment could include:

  • Applicants formal education
  • The amount of experience the applicant has accumulated
  • Age
  • Specialist education credentials
  • English language skills
  • Specialist qualifications
  • The applicant’s partners skills
  • Willingness to relocate to assigned region
  • Employer sponsorship and more

Each Australian State and Territory also has a unique list of skilled visa requirements to live and work within its borders. You may not get an option of where your initial placement is while you serve your preliminary time on your visa subclass.

You must select the right visa for your skilled visa application to receive a successful outcome and negate avoidable rejections and stressful appeals.

It is best to seek advice and support from a registered immigration and visa agency, like the one here at Visa to Australia and Pacific Centre, to help you navigate the complicated Australian skilled visa system.

It is an especially important matter with skilled visas. A bridging visa can be granted at the time of application lodgement. Regardless it is an on or offshore application, a bridging visa will not be granted earlier. It means you must have another substantive visa for the whole time until you can lodge your application.

Processing time for a skilled visa can differ from case to case.  Applicants with the most needed or demanded occupations will be processed very fast. For example, a few of our pharmacist applicants were granted within less than a month. You may check the details here.
